A ZULULAND GETAWAY!

Isandlwana Lodge Guesthouse is an attractive, thatched roof building which affords economical accommodation in the battlefields area.  It is surrounded by the Lodge on one side and the Village of Isandlwana on the other. There is no better place to step back in time, breath fresh air, enjoy a sweeping view of Isandlwana mountain and total relaxation in a setting that captures guests from around the world.

The house has two units.  The larger side has two twin-bedded rooms, a large lounge with dining area, a full kitchen, and a bath with shower. It sleeps four people. The smaller unit is a twin bedroom-sitting room combination with a small kitchen.  Both units are equipped for self-catering.

Isandlwana Lodge offers a number of stimulating activities for their resident guests and those staying in the guesthouse, who may pre-book tours and activities.  Our flagship tours are Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift and are conducted by our resident historian, Rob Gerrard, or one of his associates.

A trained registered guide who is a staff member of the Lodge takes guests on a Zulu Village Safari. It is a walking tour that visits a typical homestead, the historic St. Vincent’s Church, the schools, or clinic, depending on one’s interest.  The final stop is always with a Sangoma (diviner) which is fascinating to everyone.

Walking trails, horse riding, photographic and birding tours are also offered. There are over 300 species of birds during the year in this area. A specialist guide can be arranged for you, but pre-booking is essential.

Note: Children are welcome. There is a fenced area a round the house which
provides space for playing out of doors.  No pets please.
